J.W. Anderson S/S 2010 collection preview / Photos by Alex Sainsbury

J. W. Anderson will return for the third time at London Fashion Week under the MAN show in September for a highly anticipated Spring/Summer collection. J. W. Anderson is a sort of Trojan horse in fashion, pushing the boundaries of men’s fashion. His upcoming collection is inspired by the painter J.M.W. Turner, showcasing a man who is cultured and worldly. There is a slight tribal feel to the collection, featuring beaded hats, woven bangles, and accents of bright colours. He returns with his trademark billowing silhouette that still manages to appear tailored, finished off with customised leather sandals and shoes. It’s a sportswear collection with an urban grunge aspect to it. J. W. Anderson has a great understanding of what can be done with menswear that hasn’t been done before, and there is a bright future ahead of him.
