Burberry Prorsum

Text by Luke Raymond

I hate to put a dampner on the prospects of summer but it does seem to have slunk away, leaving us with the approaching delights of British autumn and winter. Usually marred by damp, muggy weather, Christopher Bailey over at Burberry Prorsum has created the perfect shoe for the doleful British winter.

The most successful interpretation of the difficult trainer/high heel combination yet, Bailey’s rubber- soled ankle boots and wedges replete with buckles and straps provide both a - to be sensible - practical solution and, more importantly, would brighten any rain soaked trample.

I managed a sneaky look at the high street yesterday and for those not on a Burberry budget, Zara do an equally - to shamefully ape Tyra Banks- fierce interpretation in camels and creams, which are perhaps more appropriate for this awkward summer/autumn transition period.
